This game is GREAT, but I wish there was a code for the levels! I'm playing in the browser because I use Linux so I can't play the Windows version, and when I accidentally leave fullscreen I have to go back to the menu and lose my progress to put it back on fullscreen. Having codes for the levels would help with that!
Mouse control is just not right for a shoot em' up space game. Is there a reason for no keyboard/joy control? I downloaded the game and was happy it ran under Linux on WINE but shut it off when I figured out there was no keyboard control. I like Garfield & R*Type, this seems it would be great if it just had proper control. Thanks! My laptop has touchpad and that's even worse but even with mouse it's just not right.
This game is a masterpiece! The pixel art style is amazing, and the gameplay is challenging and fun. I love the unique power-up system. Can't wait to see more from you!
This is incredibly cool! I wish there were more checkpoints, because I'm really bad and I wish I could get past level 1. After 4 continues tho, I'm giving up. Amazing art!
I know someone who worked for Paws many years ago, who says this is awesome, and it's the kind of thing their artists would have loved to create back in the day.
Alright. I needed to edit my comment, because of my stupidity. I had problem with power-ups changing too quickly, but I didn't realize that it's because I was shooting at them. In terms of teleport/dash ability being useless on bosses, I didn't realize that it was shooting projectiles in every direction, after teleport/dash. So yeah. I change my opinion. This game is awesome. Although I am tired of "scary eldritch horror Garfield" thing, but I like this game. I like the mouse controls. Graphics are also nice. Sounds and music are also very good, they sound very arcade, what I like.
Wow. This is fucking incredible with its shooter aesthetic juice. I only wish I could play with a controller as the sensitivity with a trackball mouse is not the easiest to control.
Wow was not expecting this game to be properly difficult! Very fun. Need to play a bit more to get past the lasagna base level. Unfortunate that there's no way to save, even clicking "return to menu" after losing a level resets you back to level one.
Hard game, destroyed a bit of my wrist too. Very fun tho, Lumpy's pixelart is awesome and the music is phenomenal. Being able to pause would be nice but it's not the end of the world.
BOI this is difficult, even for me as a casual bullet-hell player. I'm more experienced by using keys, and using mouse makes it imo harder to navigate. But other then that, I'm stunned by the result. Great game and cant wait for your next masterpiece.
Very very difficult, but i've menaged to beat it. Would have made tons of cash if it had been a cabinet in the '90s. I liked it very much.
It's a pity it doesn't have a save function, so one needs to finish it all at once. This is a problem because once one sets the sound options at the start menu, one can't modify them unless one intends to completely start over.

This is amazing!! The style is so freaking cool, congrats on making such a wicked-freaky game!
Absolute cinema lmao. Took me till the second boss fight to understand how the g force worked exactly- I think thats a skill issue though.

He made another game a while back called Sacrifights. It's also really fun.
I know someone who worked for Paws many years ago, who says this is awesome, and it's the kind of thing their artists would have loved to create back in the day.
This game is gold!

Hi, I enjoyed your SHMUP and wrote about it on my blog Mr. Dave Pizza. https://mrdavepizza.com/gar-type-is-a-free-pixel-art-shmup-a-fun-if-not-horrifyi...
I thought it was pretty satisfying for a free browser game on itch.io and loved the pixel art and music.
I also made some gameplay footage. I didn't beat the game like some people but made it to the first boss at least, haha.
Best wishes!Could you send the purple tones pallete pls?
please add suport for mac os x 10.9.
i cant play
Install either WINE or PlayOnMac, and if you set it up correctly you can run EXE files as-is.
Granted, I don't have a Mac so I can't confirm how well they'll work compared to the Linux versions.
Here on Arch Linux, running the game under WINE works flawlessly without lag.
Spaghetti for the win!!!
Good game but the only difficult part to me was the only mouse control... please ad a controller or keyboard support if possible, thanks.
Amazing game and amazing story! How horror combines with action and retro nostalgia. It's difficult and i love it.
